Fire prevention
Contrary to what one could think, a well-placed cane on the roof is a material which is not more flammable than wood. Thanks to silica present in its structure and to proper, tight arrangement it is not only durable, but also difficult to burn. The hatchet can be covered with special materials to improve its resistance to fire (basically makes it harder to set on fire and makes fire spreading more difficult).

Different fire warning devices are also used, one can also install sprinklers, which can be started manually or automatically.

We own a certificate issued by the Department of Fire Research of the Institute of the Construction Technics (ITB) in Warsaw (Classification Report No NP.-761/03/AK, covering roof resistance to external fire) for the roof system we use, which is defined as a fire non-spreading roof according to the EU standards.

Fire classification : the site is classified as BROOF(t1) (acc. to PN-ENV 1187:2004 and prEN 13501-5) and as fire non-spreading (acc. to the ITB Instruction 401/2004).

Additional roof protection we apply using a special material we apply as a spray, protects the roof from an accidental or intentional setting the roof on fire. In order to keep this protection, it is necessary to repeat the application of fire protection at least every 5 years.

We apply the fire protection ourselves, using units allowing the material to be applied under proper pressure and in the proper direction. It is also important, how particular protective layers are applied onto the cane roof.

One also has to remember the proper times and weather conditions, allowing this fire protection to be applied.
